Position Responsibilities:

The Associate Director of Grants & Fundraising is a full-time position supporting and leading targeted development and fundraising efforts based out of the Waitsfield, Vermont office. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer and works with the Development & Communications Manager and staff from all field offices.

  • Lead grant writer for U.S. government and foundation proposals.
  • Research, identify, and follow through on grant opportunities appropriate to PH’s mission.
  • Lead and contribute to proposal development by researching topics, mapping out potential partners, competitors, and experts, and conducting outreach as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with program staff on program renewals and new opportunities.
  • Prepare proposal packages for submission to donors, including technical narrative, budget, and appendices (i.e., past performance references, CVs, monitoring & evaluation tables, logic models, budget notes, etc.).
  • Contribute to program development strategy meetings.
  • Contribute to the expansion of the individual giving program.
  • Track and report on goals, including preparation of development and funding reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Produce and disseminate quarterly online newsletters.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

The role is a good fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of development experience, preferably with an international organization, including writing and coordinating proposals for federal U.S. government funding and foundations.
  • Project implementation and project management experience, including monitoring and evaluation experience.
  • Expertise in developing project budgets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Versatility, flexibility, creativity, willingness to work within evolving priorities with enthusiasm, and the ability to handle pressure well.
  • A work style that embodies patience and a commitment to listening, mentoring, and facilitating development projects.

Start Date

As soon as possible.

Salary

$65K full-time, exempt.

Hybrid Work Schedule

Fully hybrid schedule with work in the Waitsfield office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and work from home on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
